Hazel's first achievement in Sport was at school where she became 'Sports Captain' for the school. She joined the WRAF at the age of 17yrs and continued her love for sport and participating including hockey, netball, running, tennis and skiing where she was a member of the WRAF ski squad. Whilst in the Women's Royal Air Force (WRAF), she took up mountaineering and became the WRAF mountaineering rep and was a member of an expedition to the Canadian Icefields. She was also a member of the first all female WRAF team to enter and finish the Ten Tors navigational competition on Dartmoor.
Hazel continued her love for sport and keeping fit after leaving the RAF and is still a fitness fanatic. She keeps herself fit now by running, cycling, swimming and weight training and is taking part in her first triathlon in the Summer.
